Marks Calculator
So, you've just got your mark from the Faculty and it's lower than you thought it would be. This is because the Faculty scaled your mark.
What happens is this: they work out a borderline mark (in this case, 62.2). They then scale this down to a proper borderline mark, ie 50. They ensure that anybody who got 100 still gets 100. They then scale everybody in between. So, the closer you are to 100, the less you get taken off your mark. The closer you are to 62.2, the more you get taken off your mark (maximum 12.2).
