One of the pitfalls of being med students and then doctors is we think we don't need our own doctors - which just ain't so! It's so important that we all have our own GP, and unfortunately the statistics show a large portion of doctors don't have GPs! Check out AMSA's 'Get a GP' campaign here.

Please note:
- An extra $2 applies to Alcohol tickets which is to be paid on arrival at the camp
- If you are successful in obtaining a ticket, you must attend a meeting on Friday 19/3/2010 (This Friday), 12pm.
- If you are catching the bus to the camp, bring $15 to the meeting on Friday.
- ONLY first year med students from Clayton campus are to purchase tickets. Anyone else purchasing tickets will not be able to receive a reimbursement

Host Scheme Night is when we let our hair down and get our boogie on with a massive off-campus party. With big name DJs and bands headlining the event, as well as student DJs providing great music, the event is sure to sell out! Tickets will be available on Host Scheme Day or at Camps. Get in early as there are only 1750 tickets available!

International Students’ Forum
Time: 10 am – 11 am
Venue: M3 Building 13
Cost: Free
All international students are welcome to come to an introductory session, where you’ll get to see all the exciting events international students have done in past years, and where information on support groups, SASU (Student Academic Support Unit) and Malaysian, Singaporean and Botswanan relations will be provided.
Furthermore there will be a questions time for anything you want to know about Monash.

Medfest BBQ
Time: 11 am – 2 pm
Venue: Biomed Lawns (Outside Building 13)
Cost: Free
A pleasant social gathering, complete with BBQ food, drinks, music and lots of you guys. Come hang out and meet new people before hitting up the clubs and societies stalls in the afternoon.
Also making an appearance are the MDO’s. Medical Defence Organisations which will you’ll all get to meet and sign up for free medical insurance. Plus Wildfire (Rural Health) and Ignite (Global Health) will also be there: it's a great chance to join up to the different med societies.

Definitely one of this week’s highlights with inspiring speakers including Dr Feelgood (Dr Sally Cockburn) and Prof John Murtagh as well as current students. Come along to hear about what life as a Monash med student is really like, from those with the experience and enthusiasm to share.
Whether you’re after some helpful tips to get ahead of the game or just for some insight into the next five years of your life, Futures Forums is a not-to-be-missed event.

Begun in 2004 by a group of passionate and motivated Monash University students, Ignite runs a variety of International Health projects and events in partnership with Global Health groups in Australia and overseas!
For all those people who love doing The Age Superquiz, here's an opportunity to show off your true talents and meet fellow med students. Make a team and bring your friends along for a fun night of games and of course trivia.

Scavenger Hunt

A bit of friendly competition and another chance to meet some of your new classmates. Pick up your mission task map/list after the Faculty Welcome and race in teams for title glory – MUMUS Scavenger Hunt winners.

Get Plastered! (Hosted by Wildfire)
Time: 8 pm – late
Venue: Monash Hotel (Dooley’s) 2077 Dandenong Road, Clayton
It wouldn't be O'Week without WILDFIRE getting you plastered - literally. This powdery, sticky night is a great way to meet your classmates as well as your WILDFIRE Clayton sub-committee. Plus, you can make up some epic stories in the morning about your 'mid-shaft compound fracture of the humerus'. Make some more friends, find out what Wildfire actually does and continue your introduction to life at Monash.
All welcome – you don’t need to be from a rural area to be a part of Wildfire!

Friday 26th February
Transition camp!
Transition camp, a fun filled weekend of the beginnings type. Your Med Adventure officially starts here. You will start the weekend on the Friday morning with a briefing and be sorted into groups (which later will become your PCL tutor groups). Throughout the weekend you’ll have plenty of rec time to meet new people, and activity time as well to build teamwork. You’ll even get to meet 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th years, and ah so much new stuff, play games, go on runs with Craig Hassed and basically be set for when uni starts for real.
Time: 8:30 am
